Ethan Pringle and Scott Cory have made a trip to good ol’ Rifle for some climbing. Day one Ethan sent Girl Talk in about 5 tries. STRONG effort. We gave him beta and he took it down. Basically anything you give Ethan beta on…he will take down. I am pretty sure he can figure out moves, but it would seem like he can’t and right now he is taking all information in ANY way possible to cop it. I guess thats smart. Either way…Nice work Ethan. I think Ethan thought it was like 8a+ or something…CHRIST!
Chris Sharma and Daila Ojeda are headed out this way as well…I think Chris is psyched to check out some Fortress action as well. I’m pretty dang psyched on the upcoming weeks. I have the HERA event this weekend, then a few more climbing days, THEN…on to the Noreaster in NH. Right now…All I want to do is Kryptonite….I am heading up there today for some tries….Hope things go well….I should send, but, WELLLLLLL…ya just never know with this one…
Ethan and crew are going to follow us up to the Fortress today…I think just for beta???…YO…THATS an effort for beta…good GOD!

Hmm, interesting what you say about Ethan and beta. When you’re strong and wanting to send as much as possible in a limited time, there’s a lot of pressure to get the full beta spray. But if you do, I don’t see how you can really comment on the grade, because you don’t have a true appreciation of the effort involved in unlocking the sequences.
I suppose what I’m getting at is that beta really complicates the already contentious subject of grading.
