I sent my project yesterday!!! Whadda feeling man!! This route I am calling “Treehouse”. It is the links of “Slaughterhouse 5″ (5.14b) put up by good ol’ Andy Reather, and “Treebeard” (5.13c), put up by Todd Perkins. The link is both cruxes and goes straight up the prominant part of the wall…the prow. This was a LOT harder for me that Slaughterhouse 5 due to the bouldery lenghth. I figured the breakdown was something like a 13c to a long V9. For me it was surely a 14c-feeling accomplishment….but 5.14b is the safe zone. I considered this my “whoop-my-ass-into-shape” route. I kept falling all over the upper crux…sucky…I had ZERO confidence in my climbing…and now I might not suck so bad.
Andrew Bisharat had a rad day as well…he put down “La Hobytla” 13a second try. Kid is climbing well right now…he is my main psyche source too.
Peep the illmatic photos Keith (ladzinski.com) Ladzinski shot. He got some REALLY good shots that will be running in Rock & Ice for a Mesquite Nevada article. Thanks Keith!!!
