Daniel Woods Solution Video

Every trip I go on I bring the video camera. It’s pretty trendy these days for climbers to make vids and then post them on the internet. For that matter the internet has changed climbing as we all know it. And even further the marketing aspect has gotten even broader due to thus. Well…. As a professional climber… I take advantage of all resources for the companies I work with… it’s my “Job”! Thanks to all of my friends for posting this on their sites. I truly appreciate it… and Daniel… Hope you like it.

This content was shot in the Gorges Du Loup, which is in the South of France. It is a great summer spot with the beach near, a beautiful gorge, and some test-pieces that kept us busy for a month and a half.

Daniel impressed all of us, including the locals with his fanaticism and efforts he put in each day. He would try one 9a and immediately after run over to jump on an 8c+, and then 20 minutes after that he would attempt to onsight an 8b! It was one of my favorite times in Europe this year and mainly due to hanging out and climbing with Daniel.

He stands by his statements in the video and believes that the Solution is the best shoe ever made and he uses it for everything.

The edits were done over the past few weeks. I find editing great for the rest days where you can be productive and still incorporate what I love more than anything… climbing.

Ordinarily I have a problem with climbers hawking their sponsor’s products on their blogs, because everyone knows they’re only doing it because they’re being paid, and that if another company paid them, they’d say the same thing about that company. So in a way it sort of insults the blog reader’s intelligence. Unsolicited endorsements/comments are really the only ones that have any validity.

However in this case it’s ok, because the Solution probably really is the best shoe on the market. They’re like cheating…if you haven’t tried them you don’t know what you’re missing.

HA!… Polaropposite… Agreed. It is pretty ruthless isn’t it? But you know what? If the outlet is there and it isn’t harming anyone. I say go for it. Thanks for the comment man! And yes… the shoe is THE best.

Out of curiosity, what did you use to shoot the footage? It’s great!

Sid… I have a Sony CX100. SUPER tiny camera and perfect for someone who travels and like to keep their camera on them. It fits into my pocket!
