Gorges Du Loup…HEAVEN!!!

I really can’t say that I have been this psyched on an area in a while…for the style, the amount of hard routes in ONE cliff, the color of the stone, the features, perfect setting, and location…DAYUMN we are in heaven!!!! I am not even kidding when I say that Every DAY I wake up SUPER stoked to be where I am and excited to get to the cliff and climb. I am so happy.

The cliff...

The cliff...

We have the ocean about 20 minutes drive from our crib it is surely the warmest I have ever swam in and is an “aqua blue” that I have only seen in photos. There are huge cliffs with NO routes on them all over the gorge here too. I am always intrigued when I see SO many caves that are waiting to be bolted and equipped. That to me is just as motivating as the cliff we are climbing at. The future of Gorges Du Loup climbing is right in your face. There is also this nice little town down the street that holds that quaint little-French-town-feel. Café’s, the Tabacc store, and a swimming hole in the river below.

HEAVENNNNN!!!!

HEAVENNNNN!!!!

OUR CRIB...

OUR CRIB...

There has been MAD climbing action as well…SO motivating. Punt X was climbed twice yesterday. Punt X is a 9a/9a+ put up by Alex Chabot roughly three years ago. This is the areas test-piece and is SUCH a perfect line up a blue shield of bubbly limestone. Fingery and powerful. Daniel will definitely do this one. I am guessing fast too. Enzo and Anatol climbed the routes latest ascents yesterday. Props boys.

Daniel took down one of the best and most impressive 8c+’s in all of Europe, Triptic Tonik. Good form lil hommie! Colette did a quickee 7b, Courtney her first 6c+ and I did an annoying 8c called Quinelle Trophy. BAWSE!!! I am so psyched to do SO many routes at this wall it is kinda nutty. Once you finish one…there are 30 more 8c-9a routes to do…. It’s that amazingly motivating and inviting feel here….ALL routes are high caliber and have the same dope style.

We are truly in heaven… and I am just getting started..YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

Allison… the “color accent” setting in your scene (SCN) option. You use your “display” button on the bottom left to set up a color to choose. You will see. And once you grab the color you would like to accent press the left side of the wheel. Experiment. Its a great option. THANKS for reading!!!

Hey Joe, tell us about the chipping. You were down on it in a previous post (”sucky”) but now you reckon the cliff is one of the best places ever? How does that work? I’m not shit-stirring, and am genuinely interested.
