Austin Day TWO and CLIMBING!!!

The day of the event looked sketchy, it was raining and this is even after pushing the event day to Sunday…we were worried. We arrived to the Riemers Ranch (area where it was all going down) and sure enough…THANKFULLY…things weren’t too wet. PHEW!!! People were there as well. Just goes to show how psyched these people were, with actually climbing on wet routes and topping out on wet slabs! Nutty.

I was SUPER psyched to check out the cliffs here and the features were everything I had heard about. Tufas, Stalactites, runnels, pockets, BAD ASS climbing in a pumpy and powerful style.  The one thing that makes this place special…is it’s features….I have never come across anything like this in the USA…

I had a GREAT day man…I have to say.  It was a No-Fall-Day and thats a good one by my standards.  Nothing insanely hard, some 13bs and 13as….just banging pitches out….beta was coming from Eric, Tou, and Ryan Roden (not calling you Future hommie).  What was really ideal about the day….was how the sun came out…dried the rest of the cliff up…and the afternoon was a PROPER, normal climbing day.  The raffle was taken place with gear from TNF, La Sportiva, Sterling Ropes, Evolve, TONS….

AND OF COURSE....more beer and fun...

AND OF COURSE....more beer and fun...

img_2432When the sun set…it was SLIDESHOW time.  We had a HUGE screen and a dope sound system, KEY for the best entertainment.  I felt that the crowd for this show was one of the most easy going and humorous group I have presented for.  People laughed, participated, made comments and had really good responses.  Thanks everyone!!!
