It was really getting hard to stay psyched in Colorado. The gyms were the only outlet and for me it gets pretty desperate EVEN with the 8 bad-ass gyms in Boulder. Vitals for my are inspiration, large amounts and HIGH quality rock… and good hommies. That alone will fuel the psyche to the end of time! Hueco Tanks is our home for the next couple of weeks… It is definitely different coming from sport climbing ALL the time. But you know… You just gotta lower the expectations and have fun. Thats really what its all about.
The first day we had climbing was yesterday and it was promptly followed by a rest day due to the major hangover that most of the entire country shared… AND… the intense pain I’m in from bouldering my ass off the entire day. I planned on going slow, methodical, ease into the climbing, but MAN… when you are psyched there is only ONE way to flex! We climbed from 9am to 5pm… yup… ALL day. Hiking, to the next spot, posting up and climbing everything that was cool or do-able. LOTS of V9′s was the name of the game. And that was pretty satisfying for me.
I have a list of things I would like to do… we will see. I am still approaching this with 0 expectations. ONLY fun…
