Watch.

Nelson (Blinkin) Carayannis showed me this video that we were both simply amazed by. The song is great, the characters are gnarly, and the cinematography is profound. All shot with The Phantom which is known for its slow motion ability. Over the past two days Blinkin and I shot in Canyon Land with routes, creative shots, interviews, and bolting. He is putting a small series together that I am sure will be live in no time. Cannot wait to see it. Waka Flocka will be featured, but I really don’t think this is just a climbing vid. BORING! Can’t wait to see whuddup.

Enjoy!

Brandon Lahoud - JOE! love this post! there are so many great music videos out there that go unrecognized that are amazing.

I always post my art major friend’s facebook wall with cool innovative or cinematographically interesting videos. We’re music nerds too and combine. Shoot man, i really wish I could’ve gone to Nor’easter to possibly meet and chit and chat. I won tickets but I can’t go up the entire weekend because I have an open house for my new music teaching job and all my furniture for my apartment comes in this weekend. Enjoy your old stomping grounds and hopefully we’ll be able to catch up some point in our lives! You’re a huge inspiration to me and keep being stoked on climbing, its infectious.

ps. also, if you’ve got an hour, watch Spike Jonze’s short film “I’m Here”, it is a gorgeous love story. Really well done. http://www.imheremovie.com/

admin - Brandon….. THANKS for the links man… I am going to cop that movie right now… Nor’Easter is going to be a blast man… tend to your deed though….. have fun and stay psyched.

luke dupre - word. i think this video is a trip’daliscious distillation of the existential crisis that American’s are experiencing today (vis-a-vis the demise of “American Exceptionalism” and the American dream). competing fits of blind raging anger wandering into the darkness (i.e. our collective ignorance) to face each other down, only to fizzle out into an impotent, post-ejaculate state of childish fear and dejection.

just kidding…sort of.

thanks for sharing Joe. total awesomeness. here’s another video that cracks me up with its equally dark ironic representation of Americana, substituting boy bands for redneck hillbillies; Hotchip’s “I Feel Better”:

@KSL - awesome. Its always better IRL than animated when talking about natural forces isn’t it? I loved every silent slow expression and howl – rock on.
